Have you ever paused to ask yourself why you were born as a human? Not in a philosophical or religious sense alone, but truly wondered, why this life, this mind, this moment? According to ancient Indian wisdom, the soul evolves through 84 lakh yonis, that is, life forms, before it reaches the stage of human birth. Trees, birds, insects, animals… lifetime after lifetime, the soul journeys through nature, learning, cleansing, and rising. Becoming human is not ordinary, it’s rare, it’s sacred, and it’s powerful. And yet, here we are, spending this precious chance mostly in chaos. Running through routines like machines, school, college, job, marriage, bills, children, one endless loop of survival.
We wake up tired, rush through deadlines, carry silent grudges, constantly compare ourselves, and easily slip into criticism, and somehow, we call this a “normal life.” But is this truly living? We’ve built a world where we have everything like food, phones, followers, and yet, we often feel an emptiness inside. Our days are packed, yet our hearts are hollow. Stress and tension have become so common that we no longer even notice their weight. Every second person feels anxious, restless, and drained. And we silently carry all this like invisible baggage, thinking that this is just how life is supposed to be.
But deep down, we know this isn’t it. There’s something more. There’s something calling us back to ourselves. That voice, however faint, is the soul asking us to pause. To remember. To return.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna: “Karma kro, phal ki chinta mat karo.” Do your work. Walk your dharma. But don’t be obsessed with the outcomes. In today’s world, we’ve turned this wisdom upside down. We chase the fruits, salary, promotion, success, applause, and forget the joy of simply walking the path. We constantly worry about the future and regret the past, yet we rarely breathe fully into the present moment.
Yes, money is important. This is not about denying reality; we all have rent to pay, groceries to buy, and dreams to build. But in the process of making a living, we must not forget to live. We shouldn’t forget our soul’s purpose. Because your soul didn’t come here to just earn, eat, scroll, and sleep. You didn’t come here only to prove yourself to others or tick off societal boxes. You came here to feel, to grow, to awaken. Maybe your purpose is to heal ancestral trauma or to be the first person in your family to choose peace. Maybe it’s to create, to write, to teach, to hold space for others, or perhaps, your purpose is simply to live as the most honest, heartfelt version of yourself.
We often think that purpose has to be loud and big and glamorous. But sometimes, it’s in the quiet choices: the way you treat a stranger, the way you forgive yourself, the way you get up each morning despite the heaviness in your heart. We need to return to the inner work. That’s where real transformation begins.
So today, let this be your reminder: your life is not meant to be monotonous. You are not here to just survive. You are here to awaken. To live with awareness. To walk with love. To choose kindness, even when it’s hard. To release control and trust the divine rhythm. The Gita whispers, life is not about controlling every outcome, it’s about doing your part with honesty and detachment, and allowing the rest to unfold.
The world will keep telling you to do more, earn more, chase more. But your soul… your soul just wants to be. It wants to rest, to breathe, to create, to connect. Don’t lose that essence in the noise. Go inward. Ask yourself what truly lights you up. Spend time with the stars. Listen to bhakti songs. Sit in silence. Journal your thoughts. Befriend your own heart.
You’ve come a long way to be born human. Don’t waste this rare and sacred chance on autopilot living. Be present. Be real. Be soulful. Because your highest purpose is not just out there, it’s already within you, waiting to be remembered.
