My favorite month of the year? Hands down, it’s December. Winter months have always held a special place in my heart, and December tops the list for so many reasons.
First of all, it’s the month when nature does me the biggest favor—lizards go into hibernation. Yes, you heard that right, lizards! They’ve been my worst nightmare since forever. The sight of them gives me shivers, so knowing they’re tucked away somewhere and not roaming my walls is pure bliss. It’s like December gifts me peace from those creepy creatures, and for that, I’m eternally grateful.
Then, there’s the magic of no sweat. You know how embarrassing it is when others look all fresh and cool, and I’m standing there like I just ran a marathon? My face becomes an oil factory, and my clothes cling to me in ways I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. But winters? Oh, winters are a blessing—no sweaty mess, no awkwardness, just a clean, dry me. It’s liberating!
And let’s not forget the joy of sweaters and jackets. They’re not just warm; they’re like my personal armor against the world. Being on the chubby side, I always feel self-conscious about my body, but winter clothing wraps me up in comfort, hiding all my insecurities. It’s the season when I finally feel okay with myself, at least on the outside.
But the real reason I love December? It’s that tiny flicker of hope. With the new year just around the corner, I can’t help but dream—what if this time, things change? What if the darkness finally gives way to light, and life takes a turn for the better? I know it sounds naive, but that hope keeps me going. December isn’t just a month for me; it’s a promise of a fresh start, even if the reality doesn’t always live up to it.
So yeah, December is my favorite. It’s cold, quiet, and full of hidden joys and fragile hopes—just like me.
