The True Meaning of Having It All

To me, “having it all” does not turn out to be what the world traditionally makes it out to be. It’s not about a million dollars in the bank, an enormous house with gleaming marble floors, or shiny luxury vehicles parked in a row. It’s not about fame, power, or the type of achievement that’s shouted from rooftops or flaunted on social media.

To me, having it all is softer, quieter, and deeper. It’s more spiritual, emotional, and rooted in actual human experience. It’s about living a life that feels complete, not just a life that appears full from the outside. It’s about peace of mind, love in the heart, and meaning in the soul.

Having it all is about having good health, both physical and mental. Without health, nothing else really matters. To wake up pain-free, be able to breathe deeply, walk freely, and sleep peacefully is an underrated blessing. To me, it is one of the purest forms of wealth in life.

It also means having “2 waqt ki roti aur sir par chhat” (two meals a day and a roof over my head). That very basic security, that feeling of safety and stability, is not small. It is dignity. It is enough. It is everything when the heart is content.

Another part of having it all is the love and support of good, supportive parents, and most importantly, their health. To know that they are safe, happy, and well is to experience a special kind of peace that no amount of material riches can buy. Their blessing, their hug, their words of wisdom, they will be the emotional anchor of your existence.

Having it all is also having a great job, not merely one that pays the bills, but one that is aligned with my values and passions. Work that provides me with a sense of contribution and growth. A work environment where I can be myself, learn, and develop.

And then there is the aspiration for a wonderful life partner. Not a perfect one, but a real one. One who speaks the language of the heart, who walks with you through the storms, who celebrates in your joys, and whose touch makes you feel at home. A soul partner, not a name one. Love, laughter, and trust all become stronger over time.

But for me, the real meaning of “having it all” also rests in Bhakti, in spiritual devotion, in connection with the Divine. In being able to let go, to be at peace with prayer, with chanting, with recalling, there is something greater than this world of materialism that supports me, directs me, heals me. It’s the anchor that prevents me from floating away in life’s chaos.

It’s also about emotional equilibrium and psychological resilience, being capable of sitting with my emotions, knowing my internal landscape, and answering life with compassion instead of reaction. It’s about healing from past wounds, growing from suffering, and developing emotional strength to take on life’s ups and downs. Having someone to talk to, or even the space to talk to myself with tenderness, that’s a sort of wealth too.

It’s about gratitude, not in a forced, Instagram-caption sort of manner, but in the simple noticing of the good stuff. The feel of the sun’s warmth on the skin, the sound of children’s giggles, the aroma of food cooked from love, a song that speaks to the soul, these are the things that fill the cup of life in ways nothing worldly ever can.

It’s about restful sleep, true friendships, forgiving others, hope for tomorrow, and a peaceful mind that can sit quietly in the silence without requiring noise to be alive.

So, is “having it all” attainable, then? I believe so, but only if we reframe what “all” is. If we pursue the world’s definition, we’ll never be enough. But if we look inward, toward the soul, toward love, simplicity, and truth, then yes, not only is it possible, it’s already within our grasp. Sometimes, it isn’t about adding more to our lives, but rather acknowledging what’s already present. And that, for me, is the true art of having it all.

  1. This is a beautiful message, Neha.
It makes me happy that someone is aware of all these aspects in their young age.

You surely know your destiny better. Your words guide your readers.

The experience of living a joyful and fulfilling life is bigger than collecting all those physical goods.
Valuing what you have provides more satisfaction than daydreaming, overthinking, and fantasizing things.

You talked about material life. You separated “basic needs” from them.
You discussed good health– mental, emotional, physical, and especially “spiritual”.

Yeah, we are connected to the universe and not limited to our bodies.

Then observing and participating in daily life, with truthfulness, compassion, and simplicity make us feel truly connected.

This post made me more stable, peaceful, and relax. Because I was also chasing what others are chasing, without realising my priorities are different.

    Thank you so much!😁

    1. I’m glad to know that this post brought you some peace and reflection, that’s exactly what I hoped it would do. We all get caught up sometimes in chasing what the world tells us to want, and it takes courage to pause and realign with what we truly value.

Your words are so warm and wise, especially the part about participating in life with truthfulness, compassion, and simplicity. That’s the real magic, isn’t it?

Glad the post made you feel a little more peaceful. 🌸🕊️
